October Holiday Events

Join us at the Shetland Museum and Archives this October holidays for an exciting programme of Halloween themed events.

Island Deli - we are also pleased to bring back the popular Island Deli picnic service to our café area, why not make it a great day out with family and friends and book a picnic lunch. *Please remember to book at least one day in advance of your visit, either email: hello@islanddeli.co.uk or send a facebook message direct to Island Deli. We've an exciting programme of events for bairns to enjoy at the Shetland Museum during the holidays.

Spooktacular scavenger hunt packs - no booking required
Each pack contains a scavenger hunt, crafts, crayons and stickers. Don't forget to collect your prize if you find all the ghouls!

Hairst Crafts - book now
Lets take a look around the galleries to find out what happens in Shetland during Hairst (Autumn). Then get creative making seasonal crafts.
When: Tuesday 19th and Thursday 21st - 10.30am to 11.30am

Suitable for bairns in P1 - P3

Viking Academy - book now
Join us to find out why the Vikings travelled to Shetland and what changes they made. After the gallery tour, we'll make crafts to transform you into a true Viking.
When: Tuesday 19th October and Thursday 21st October - 2pm to 4pm

Suitable for bairns in P4 - P7

Night at the Museum - book now
Calling all detectives! Have you ever wondered what happens in the museum at night? Are you brave enough to take a twilight tour by torchlight through the galleries. Will any of the objects come alive?
When: Wednesday 20th October, 6.00pm to 7.30pm
Price: £3.50
Suitable for ages P4 - P7

Creepy Creations - come along for a spooky tour through the museum galleries and make some creepy creations to take away.
Price £3.50
