Join us this Easter for a special programme of family activities inspired by our upcoming exhibition Outwith: Valda, MacDiarmid and Whalsay.
Outwith Family Fun Day
Step into the world of Hugh, Valda and their son Michael through interactive trails and creative craft activities.

Creative Poetry Workshop (Primary 4–7)
An interactive session exploring MacDiarmid’s poetry and letters, with the chance to create your own work using traditional writing tools.
Friday 3 April | 10:30am–12pm or 2pm–3:30pm

Who’s Hugh? Workshop (Primary 1–4)
Discover the story of Hugh and Valda, how they lived, and what inspired their creativity.

Easter Family Fun Day
We will round off the holidays with an Easter-themed day of crafts, trails and an egg hunt. A sensory area will also be available for younger children.

You can also drop in anytime during the holidays to try our scavenger hunts and activity trails, complete them for a special prize.
