The number of visitors will be restricted to ensure social distancing.
We will restrict the number of people in the Shetland Museum and Archives at any given time, including staff, to make sure that each group (household/family/friends) can remain at least 2 metres from the next group at all times.
To help us manage this all visitors must pre-book their tickets for a given timeslot.
This means that there will only be a short queue – so it will be a great opportunity to experience Shetland Museum while it’s quiet!
A one-way system is now in operation throught the Museum Galleries and shop with a seperate entrance and exit for the building.
The Galleries have been split into three zones and only one booked group will be allowed into each zone at a time.
- The Lower Gallery
- The Upper Gallery
- Da Gadderie Exhibition space
The Archives Searchroom is now available by appointment only. The number of people allowed in will be restricted to ensure social distancing can be maintained. New rules are also in place to ensure high levels of hygiene are followed. See the Archives Searchroom page for more details.
