Saturday, September 23rd 2023 - Sunday, June 9th 2024
Upper Gallery, Shetland Museum

As part of the BBC's 'Extraordinary Portraits', UK artist Stuart Pearson Wright was commissioned to paint a portrait of Harriet Middleton in recognition of her incredible fundraising efforts for the Shetland MRI Scanner appeal. Harriet designed a hat, known as 'Harriet's Hat', and led a community knitting programme to know and sell hats and patterns, achieving global interest that raised over £100,000 for the cause. 'Harriet's Portrait' is an oil on canvas portrait which captures the spirit and determination of Harriet Middleton, knitter, fundraiser, and inspirational Shetland woman.
