Wick Voices meets Oral History

Doreen Leith is the leader of Wick Voices, a project which collects oral history about the eastern part of Caithness.

The project was launched in 2016 to preserve local voices for posterity.

The recordings are edited and uploaded to the Wick Heritage website www.wickheritage.org Present and future generations will be able to hear about many aspects of local life, past and present, as told by those who have experienced it: from schooldays to workplaces and from wartime experiences to sport and leisure.

Doreen’s talk, Wick Voices meets Oral History, demonstrates that oral history recordings can be a fantastic resource for family historians.

Thursday 19th September, 7pm (doors open 6.30pm)
