Shetland Wool Week: 22nd - 30th September 2018

Saturday, September 22nd 2018 - Sunday, September 30th 2018

Shetland Wool Week is a world renowned celebration of Britain's most northerly native sheep, the Shetland textile industry and the rural farming community on these islands.

Since its conception nine years ago, Shetland Wool Week has grown into an internationally acclaimed event. This year there will be an extensive range of exhibitions, classes and events, which will cover many different subjects. These will include; weaving, spinning, dyeing, Fair Isle and lace knitting as well as many other fascinating subject areas.

Events will take place from the most southern tip of the Shetland, right up to the most northerly island of Unst, famous for its beautiful lacework, with many locations in between.

The Shetland Wool Week Hub is located in the Gadderie at the Shetland Museum & Archives, it’s the perfect place to relax and knit throughout the week, pick up your membership pack, meet fellow wool weekers and find out what’s happening each day. There is also a handy noticeboard where you can leave messages to swap tickets and share lifts.

Open daily from 10am - 7pm.
