Wednesday, April 26th 2017 7:30pm
The military seaplane base at Catfirth, the northernmost permanent seaplane base in the First World War, was established on the east side of the firth in the summer of 1918.
The first plane ever to arrive in Shetland was a seaplane which landed there.
Simon Gunn has been fascinated by the site since he lived in Nesting in the 1970s and will share his research at this talk.
Doors open at 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start.
Tickets are priced £3.50 and available from www.thelittleboxoffice.com/smaa or from Shetland Museum and Archives reception on 01595 741562.
