Join us for the first event in our new "Get to Know" series, exploring the lives of notable figures from Shetland's past.
Our October session focuses on Marion Pardoun, a prominent historical figure from Hillswick, Shetland and explores her life through 10 objects. Living in the 17th century, Marion was tried for witchcraft in Scalloway during a period when accusations of sorcery and superstition were widespread across Scotland. Through her story, we'll explore the realities of the witch trials in Shetland, the communities affected by them, and what Marion's experience can tell us about life in the islands at that time.
Free to attend, but advance booking is required. If you are leaving your child for the duration of the workshop, please be sure to fill out a consent form given to you by our team. We encourage parents to stay for the duration of the workshop if they feel their child may need extra support during the activities.
