British Geological Survey Open Day: Auroras and Earthquakes

Shetland Museum and Archive, Saturday 1st July, 10:00-17:00

If you have you ever wondered what causes the aurora or why the Earth quakes, come along and find out at the science exhibition at the Shetland Museum and Archives, and sign up for an observatory tour. (sign up on the day) Staff from the British Geological Survey will be on hand to show and explain, to all ages, how we measure the Earth’s magnetic field, why space weather is so important, and how we detect earthquakes on the other side of the world.
