The Swan - Shetland's Tall Ship
Tuesday, August 6th 2019 7:00pm - 12:00am
Shetland Museum & Archives Auditorium
Built in Lerwick in 1900, Swan was one of the finest fishing boats in the North of Scotland. After over 50 years of Shetland ownership, the vessel was retired to a buyer in England. 30 years later the boat came up for sale in a state of serious disrepair. Now fully restored, this historic vessel has a new life and is looking to the future. This talk will highlight its fishing heritage, rescue and restoration, current activities as a sail training and charter vessel and future opportunities.
