Unique 2.5 hour fishing trips in the beautiful Scalloway waters.

Experience a traditional Shetland boat and fishing methods aboard "Utilise" built and designed by Duncan bros. of Burra, renowned and highly respected boat builders, in 1962.

Keep what you catch!

Your skipper, Magnus Gear, who, like generations of Shetlanders before, "grew up" on the for'ard taft of his fathers Shetland model.

Lobster fishing around Foula began a real passion for Shetland boats, their heritage and crews. Come aboard and get truly hands on with the fishing methods of our forefathers, which, along with the Shetland boats themselves, can be traced back to the Viking's and beyond. Hear of some of the superstitions the fisherfolk of Shetland took very seriously, and learn of "meids"; essential long before electronic fishing aids, and truly amazing feats of human endurance that put food on the tables of yesteryear.

Regrettably, not suitable for those with limited mobility. All fishing gear and personal safety equipment provided. Warm and weatherproof clothing recommended.

Booking is required for these trips which will operate twice daily during Shetland Boat Week 2017. Departing 10.00am and 2.30pm each day.

Price: £30.00 adults / £20.00 under 18's

6 places per trip.
