Museum and Archives playboat named
During the Easter holidays, Shetland Museum and Archives ran a competition to name the playboat in the Boat Hall. Ceileidh Mercer, 11 from Bigton won with the name “Da Peerie Adventurer”, giving the explanation that: “The boat is peerie and if you have a good imagination, you could take it on lots of adventures.”
Yvonne Reynolds, Learning Assistant at the Museum and Archives, said: “We thought Ceileidh’s name and explanation for her choice were brilliant. Our younger visitors will also find costumes, fishing gear and other nautical equipment to take on their own magical voyage in Da Peerie Adventurer.”
