Learning Room

Situated just off the main Foyer area, the Learning Room is a perfect smaller space for meetings, workshops or break-out sessions.

This versatile space is used for regular events by community groups, businesses and by Shetland Museum and Archives staff for public activities and learning events. It has even been used as an exhibition space.

Able to accommodate up to 50 people, this area is ideal for encouraging participation and integration between presenter and audience, or within groups.

The room is equipped with 3 sinks and washable floors to allow for any messy activities. This makes it an ideal classroom space for art activities, or other events for toddler groups or school visits. There is also a pull-down big screen and a projector can be supplied on request.

Seating can comfortably be laid out for 40 people in theatre style, or up to 24 with tables. Up to 50 people can be accommodated for a standing event.

As with the rest of the building, this space is licenced for alcohol service and a pop up bar can be arranged to cater for guests attending events in the Foyer or Auditorium.
