Willie Thompson, a native of Shetland and retired professor from Caledonian University, has written a book Work, Sex and Power, about the whole course of human history from the Mesolithic to the present. The book’s purpose is to examine and understand the key long-term realities about historical development.
Willie’s talk will discuss issues around these themes, and allow plenty of time for questions and debate. It will touch on whatever relevance there may be to Shetland’s own history, a subject in which he has a long-term interest.
The lecture will be held in the Archives Searchroom. Space is limited, so booking is advised.
Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7.00pm start.
Tickets can be booked online at www.thelittleboxoffice.com/smaa or at reception, telephone 01595 741562.
