Saturday, May 6th 2017 10:00am - 8:00pm
Auditorium

This free seminar will include a speaker from Estonia, another from Denmark, and Dr Andrew Jennings will give his presentation on the Shetland Bus. There will also be a talk about the Shetland Bus Friendship Society, which keeps the memory of the Shetland Bus alive, the creation of Scalloway Museum, its resources and the memorial. It will be an opportunity for Shetlanders to learn about Estonia during the War, and to remind themselves of Shetland’s unique contribution as a safe haven for Norwegian refugees, and to the Norwegian struggle against the Nazis. There will a film in the afternoon.

If you would like to go to this free conference could you please contact Dr Andrew Jennings to reserve a place. He would be particularly pleased to hear from any Norwegians or Estonians living in Shetland who would like to attend. His contact details are: andrew.jennings @uhi.ac.uk
